A'al Self Introduction

My name is Syafrizaldi. I has 11 years experience in integrated natural resources management in a variety of fields including social forestry, protected areas management, and decentralized-natural resources governance, climate change, disaster risk reduction, environmental services, integrated watershed management, public campaign and advocacy, community organizing, also institution and human resources development issues.

For the 6 last year, I worked for Environmental Services Program (ESP) as Public Outreach and Communication Specialist in West Sumatra (2005 – 2006) and as Watershed Management Specialist in North Sumatra as Public (2006 – 2010). ESP works with multi parties to improve the management of water sources and broaden the distribution of safe water to urban dwellers by strengthening watershed management and delivery of key environmental services, including clean water, sanitation and solid waste management.

I’m also Co-founding and board member of Sumatra Sustainable Support (SSS Pundi) since May 2007. SSS Pundi Sumatra is a Sumatra island based community foundation in Jambi as well as self-sustained regional grant-making foundation, work to increases ability and capacity of community groups, community organizations, non-government organizations, village’s institutions, and other civil society groups, through SSS Pundi Sumatra integrated support on community based forest management initiatives, advocate a better forest policy, and develop the social entrepreneurship base on sustainable natural resources management.

Current, I am Project Manager of Field-Bumi Ceria. Bumi Ceria (Building Disaster and Climate Change Resilience in Padang Pariaman Farming Communities, West Sumatra) is a Field Indonesian project supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Jakarta, Indonesia. Field-Bumi Ceria generating and support resilience at the community level through the organized participatory action-learning via Field Schools conducted at community and Nagari level. The program starts in September 30, 2010 to March 29, 2013.

During my live journey, I like photography, writing, playing bridge, travelling, adventuring, music and reading.
