What we learned on 5, July, 2011.

Today is 5, July, 2011. In the beginning, small Apple discussed what we did yesterday.

We discuss what we learned yesterday.

And then, we expressed how we felt the process about the class yesterday. All we have a common feeling is that we can feel close to each other.

One of the participator, Moha said, this activity is very good because it contains the 5-w (where, why ,when, who, what) and knows more about the body information and Chinese words.

We had lot’s of activity yesterday in Nao chung, for learning and sharing our experience to Indonesian. We introduced the Chinese zodiac animals. We knew everybody’s zodiac animals and the symbols. From this, we knew Indonesian zodiac animals are somewhat different from Chinese, and then, we divided into five groups. This small group made us knew more about each other. Besides, we introduced our partners in detail, like we had 3 monkey together (Robert Denni Moha). After this, we had BBQ. Learning to communicate and collaborate BBQ with each other.

Next, Aal asked if we had seen “Finding Nemo” and asked what our thinking about the movie. He showed us few minutes to watch the film. It’s about Nemo’s parents strapped in captured net. Nemo wants to save them, after struggling for a long time, the whole fish gets rid of the net. We expressed our feeling. We talked the main point is that union is the power. Aal asked, are you union, can you get together? Then he said, even our background is different, but our goal is the same! I think he is right. Besides, I think this is not about confident, it’s about collaboration.

After this activity, he played color blind. Aal said, “tell the colors, not the words.” Let us see and tell “ color blind film!” Many students complex of colors and words.

Apple said the main point, keep practicing to get rid of our old thinking. Learning outside the box and free our minds. Robert said, we must break our mind to get new experience.

Aal gave a direction that what is our achievement in 5 year. Apple concludes , what we will do in the future and what we should do to get our goals.

Aal said the main purpose about the two activities, color blind and “Finding Nemo”, are to free our mind. Let us start our subject- Disaster and climate change!!

Aal gave us new and important concepts.

Bella remembered that In March, it snows. April and May, it’s hot in Taiwan. Aal said, maybe you enter in Padang, you will see many disasters, like earthquake, flood, typhoon, fire, and landslide.

Climate Change is one of the main disasters in the next future. 50~70% Indonesian is farmer, but no government, NGO gave special support for them. Maybe give seed and building, but don’t help them the experience how to build up after the disaster.

So the project we discussed now is for supporting and teaching them, making them stronger. In the following, he showed us how Indonesian farmers work in the field with pictures and approaches.

Aal is so lively to give a long speech.

Many students look the fish field with wonder questions. He also taught us Bahasa language, like Nagaris=village. In one of the pictures, we learned that the Indonesia traditional scarf use depends on women except Aceh. By the way, Snakes are not dangerous, they eats rates. Insects like mosquitoes, if people get hurt, people will take natural resources to recover.

After watching above, he taught “Learning Circle” to show us how the farmers learning mode. Synic analyzed that teacher teaches and kids learns.

But in this field, adult has some experiences, they can express their experiences and make the production better. Aal asked, do you know why we go there? Students have a common thinking, learn and share experience with them! That’s call it a day.

p.s. Within those three days, we especially thankful the resort hosts, they helped us a lot, we have wonderful time together. Thanks again~
